Four Ways to Install
a Halogen Sensor

Selecting the right mounting configuration is key to accurate readings, long sensor life, and easy maintenance. Every option is NSF-61 certified for direct drinking water contact — and none require a waste stream.

Wet-Tap with Remover

Live pipe insertion — no shutdown required

The wet-tap mount allows sensor installation and removal without shutting down the process line, making it ideal for continuous systems and live distribution mains where downtime is not acceptable.

  • power_offInstall and remove without system shutdown
  • water_dropNo wasted water — zero waste stream
  • speedRated up to 145 PSI operating pressure
  • buildReduces maintenance-related disruptions
  • location_onIdeal for distribution mains and remote vaults

Side Stream (MKIT)

Wall-mounted flow cell — easiest install

The MKIT side-stream configuration diverts a small flow of process water through a separate, low-pressure wall-mounted flow cell (maximum 60 PSI) where the sensor is housed. The ideal starting point and great for demos.

  • wallWall-mounted — no floor drain or sample panel required
  • recyclingSide stream can return water to process (NSF-61)
  • boltFastest and easiest installation — great for demos
  • swap_horizIdeal for replacing old instruments where wet-tap isn't practical

Immersion

Open tanks, basins & reservoirs

Immersion-style mounting suspends the sensor directly in open tanks, basins, clearwells, or large channels. No pipe connection required — the sensor hangs directly in the water body at any depth.

  • waterWorks in zero flow — no minimum flow requirement
  • water_dropNo waste stream, no bypass plumbing
  • straightenAdjustable depth for variable water levels
  • plumbingNo complex pipe fitting — simple installation
  • location_citySuitable for clearwells, tanks, open channels

PVC Tee (Pipe Install)

Direct inline — lowest cost option

The PVC tee mount integrates the sensor directly into a pipeline using standard plumbing fittings. The most economical installation option — no waste stream, no bypass, just a standard tee in the pipe.

  • attach_moneyMost economical installation option
  • water_dropNo waste stream — direct inline measurement

Quick Selection Guide

Answer these questions to narrow down the right mount for your site.

Can you shut off the line?

Yes →PVC Tee (D-H1MF-P)
No →Wet-Tap (D-H1WT-P)

Is it an open tank or reservoir?

Yes →Immersion (D-H1LF-P)

Do you need wall mounting at a treatment plant?

Yes →Side Stream MKIT

Need the lowest cost solution?

Yes →PVC Tee (D-H1MF-P)

Maximum pressure above 60 PSI?

Use Wet-Tap or PVC Tee (both rated 145 PSI). MKIT max is 60 PSI.
